Since the completion of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, alot has occured in the cricketing world...
From legends retiring to squads announcements to legends coming back to the international circuit to change in reigns of bcci to sponsors leaving to South Africa creating history to Gaikwad's comeback...today we talk about all this...so lets dive in.

FAREWELL:

On 24th August the Modern day wall Cheteshwar Pujara hung his boots...eagerly hoping for his comeback was just a myth and it was very emotional watching an OG leaving the big stage...
Just 3 days later...Ashwin took to social media to announce his retirement from IPL CRICKET...yes there's a silver-lining...the scientist will now explore global leagues...JSK&TSK you have one job...he confirmed putting his name for the ILT20 season auction coming up...and stated that he's looking for a player cum mentor role...
With this just Rahane remains the last TEST OG who is still playing red-ball cricket actively...
Starc also announced his T20 retirement just months before the World Cup....with that 29-run Rohit Sharma over being my most fond memory of that career...but a legend is a legend who gave his all in the format for his country.

WORLD CUP 2025:

Yastika Bhatia sustaining a knee-injury in the team's preparatory camp in Vizag has been ruled out and replaced by wicket-keeper batter Uma Chetry for the World Cup...a big blow for the youngster and a big opportunity for the other..
Even after Shafali's exclusion which according to me is justified...this team looks balanced and one of the best looking side for the world cup apart from Australia ...
Now don't get me wrong...Shafali accumalated a heap of runs in domestic and has returned in the T20 side but Pratika Rawal's performances also can't be ignored in the ODI setup...Shafali will surely comeback as she's one of the best I have seen.
The captain Kaur...will look to make this world cup a special one with players like Smriti.Jemi,& Deepti...
Renuka Thakur making a comeback gives a huge boost to the pace attack and adds experience along with Kranti and Arundhati Reddy...
With Vastrakar out yet again due to injury...the talented Amanjot Kaur who has been impressive as a pace-bowling all rounder will play a major role in this side.
All in all...this looks one of the best shots this team has ever had to win a cup...with fielding standards high and IMPROVEMENTS all-round..
COME ON INDIA.

WHY LESS STADIUMS HOSTING?

There is no doubt that matches should be held in stadiums of Guwahati,Vizag,Indore&DY Patil but couldn't some matches also been allotted to stadiums like Ahmedabad,Wankhede,Eden,Ekana,etc... 
I understand there is a rotational policy but even CWC23 was hosted by 10-11 stadiums so why just 4 for this world cup...
With no doubt these are high class stadiums but with the increasing popularity of the women's game...more stadiums should've been given the hosting.

COLOMBO HOSTING GAMES APART FROM THE PAKISTAN ONE'S?

Apart from the stadiums...another interesting thing I noted...
we know that Colombo is hosting matches for Pakistan but why 4 matches of Sri-Lanka which don't even include Pakistan being hosted there citing India is the Sole host of this world cup...
Sri-Lanka VS Australia[4th Oct]...Sri-Lanka VS England[11th Oct]...Sri-Lanka VS New Zealand[14th Oct]....Sri-Lanka VS South Africa[17th Oct]....

ASIA CUP 2025:

With the announcement of a strong Asia Cup squad came rising speculations and questions...which justifies INDIAN BENCH STRENGTH...
Harshit Rana being picked over the Purple Cap Winner Prasidh Krishna...
Sudharshan and Krishna being picked in Tests for Ipl accolades but not in T20s..
Iyer after massive 2 years with an IPL...IPL final...SMAT...and loads of runs was ignored...not even picked in the reserves which is hard to digest..
A settled T20 batting order will see a shuffle with the inclusion of Gill as a Vice-Captain making sure that Sanju who has 3 centuries and good form could be sidelined...which is a hard pill to swallow and tough for Samson himself.
No doubt Gill proved everyone wrong in Tests and will do the same here...but why break something which isn't broken?...This gives clear indication of Gill being the next All-format captain for the ICT..
Jitesh Sharma is the front-runner to play as the keeper in the XI with Sanju not batting often in the middle order...
But there still are questions of how to accommodate both Bumrah&Arshdeep in the XI?....Why musical chairs in vice captaincy?...
With Sanju&Rinku activating beast modes in KCL&UPT20 respectively...once again their is a headache infront of the captain&coach.

THE BCCI MAYHEM:

Reports suggest that BCCI PRESIDENT Roger Binny has been replaced with Vice President Rajiv Shukla taking over as Acting President of the Board..
With the ban of betting apps...BCCI loses DREAM11 sponsorship which was supposed to be till 2027...India likely to play Asia Cup without sponsor on their shirts with the tender released till 14th September...
BCCI is expecting atleast a 10% hike in the deal with sponsors till 2028.

THE SOUTH AFRICAN ERA:

What started with the WTC win has now been proving itself to being something big...
South Africa first beating Australia 2-1 in Australia in an ODI series and now winning an ODI series against England in England for the 1st time in 27 years and just 2nd in their history....the series is 2-0 with 1ODI to go...
TEMBA&CO. are seriously on a roll.

THE ENGLISH PROBLEMS:

With England's ODI performance in a slum since 2023 CWC and leadership changes...England are now down to 8th in ICC ODI RANKINGS....
As of 31st March 2027...if they slip down from Top 9[as Zimbabwe&South Africa directly qualified]...they could find themselves playing the CWC27 World Cup QUALIFIERS for the remaining 4 spots....the first time in their cricketing history.

THE GAIKWAD COMEBACK:

As of today Ruturaj Gaikwad has not been picked for the India A series vs Australia for 2-multi day games which Shreyas Iyer is leading...
Rutu has been snubbed even after scoring a great 184[206] for West Zone against Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy Semi-Final... with noticeable name of Rajat Patidar also mising.
