 KKR:The Batting Fiasco

In an era where having 9-10 batters with 5-6 proper bowlers in a team's playing XI is a luxury, this same thing is turning out to be a pure Debacle for the defending champions KKR.Something which proved to be a boon for CSK 2021.

Batting Order Musical Chairs:

Openers are the key to success for any batting unit but this has not been the case for KKR with their openers not even crossing 50+ partnership in even a single game. From Quinton De Kock to Rahmanullah Gurbaz , they tried them both where Sunil Narine remained the constant but all 3's form has been Hot and Cold.

A bigger problem has been the batting positions of in-form batters like Angkrish Raghuvanshi and the entry points of the big guns Rinku,Russel and Ramandeep in combination with the failure of Vice Captain Venkatesh Iyer.

The first instance which comes to my mind is from the match against LSG in Kolkata where KKR was enroute of a high run chase of 239 runs falling short of just 4 runs.In this case Ramandeep Singh was sent above Andre Russell and the designated No.4 Angkrish was pushed down to No.6.It's not like Ramandeep is incapable of delivering in situations like these ... its just that if you have the luxury of Russell and Rinku in a high run chase, why not use them?

Another instance comes from the match against GT in Kolkata where a par score of 198 was not chased down by KKR where they bundled for 159/8.A match which included immature batting with the only silver lining being the 50 of Captain Ajinkya Rahane.A match where the designated no.4 Raghuvanshi was once again sent down the order but this time to a unacceptable No.9 where he showed what he is capable of and the big guns[Rinku,Russell and Ramandeep] also failed.

The entry points matter alot which is proven in the recent match against RR where an early entry for Russell and then Rinku paved a way for an impactful finish making them reach a score of 206 where Raghuvanshi and Rahane once again showed class.

Conclusion:
All in all... a fixed top 4 and situational entries for the big guns can fix this problem for KKR to a big extent in the last leg of this season and the next season.
