The Chennai Dilemma

It all started at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.When everyone including me thought that it was the best auction a team has had this season, it was all about to change.

An era where T20 cricket has EVOLVED, POWER HITTING has become the main element of this format,CSK was a team which focussed on backing OLD-FASHIONED players with a strike rate of 130-140. A format which has become all about showing INTENT from the start, CSK was a team whose batting was all about building the inning slowly and then start hitting,something which they weren't able to do. A season which till now has mostly been defined as the season WHERE THE TEAM WHICH WINS THE POWERPLAY WINS THE GAME ... CSK was a team which has constantly been delivering BELOW PAR powerplay scores with the batting and has been nothing but MINIMAL with the bowling in the powerplay.

CSK's BOWLING:

In the 10 matches they've played , in not even a single match have they conceeded a score less than 42 in the POWERPLAY and then failed almost every game failed to restrict in the middle phase and in matches like the one against PBKS where they got 5 WICKETS in 8 OVERS they still let loose and PBKS went onto scores alot above 200.

PATHIRANA the go to bowler in the last 3 seasons has been nothing but POOR this season with continuous wides and no proper line and length untill the game against RCB.

The SPIN TRIO on which over 37 crores were spent haven't been able to perform well even in CHEPAUK other than NOOR.

CSK's FIELDING:

The fielding has been very sloppy, below par and underwhelming where the fielders haven't supported the bowlers by not taking the catches and doing misfieldings at CRUCIAL AND MATCH DEFINING MOMENTS.

CSK's BATTING:

The core of this batting from the start was RACHIN, TRIPATHI,HOODA and RUTURAJ. TRIPATHI and HOODA have failed miserably to grab their chances.

MSD has as always been giving fininshing touches and DUBE has been the 2nd highest run scorer with 256 runs after JADEJA with 260 runs

A GLIMMER OF HOPE came with CONWAY's inclusion but the management did not back him.

In short the batting has been INTENTLESS with alot of DOT BALLS played this season which has been the biggest reason for the DOWNFALL this season.

CONCERNS:

A team known for GIVING LONG RUNS to individuals even if they failed, CSK has failed to do so this season by using the most [21] players this season till now.

There FIELDING has also been the biggest RESULT DEFINER this season for them.

A HOPE FOR THE FUTURE:

With the inclusion of MHATRE and BREVIS and the return of RUTURAJ GAIKWAD next year, the batting unit of CSK looks good for the next season not forgetting DUBE,SHAIK RASHEED and JADEJA.

The bowling with SHREYAS GOPAL, KHALEEL AHMED , PATHIRANA and NOOR with the experience of ASHWIN and JADEJA looks good.

The inclusion of INTENT with POWER HITTERS and IMPROVEMENTS IN FIELDING STANDARDS can help them attain the LEGACY they have had all these years.

With this season coming to an end we are witnessing AN END OF AN ERA where the DAD's ARMY is turning into the CUB's ARMY with young blood running into the team.

Now as fans of this team we can just expect them to play FEARLESSLY and play for PRIDE and with the INTENT they have been playing since the  match against SRH, Finish this season on a high and comeback stronger next year... something which they are known for and give more happiness to the fans.

In these tough times as fans its are responsibility to stick by the team and support them through THICK and THIN.

The COMEBACK SUPER KINGS will hopefully be BACK WITH A BANG.

  The Manchester Resurrection This has been a series of fight and valour from the Indian team...despite many loopholes like retirement of 3 legends and Bumrah not playing all tests they still have fought till their last breath and the last day in each and every test so far ...
